The White Hart Royal Hotel, conveniently located in the market town of Moreton-in-Marsh at the head of the beautiful Evenlode Valley in the English Cotswolds, was once a coaching inn; its reputation being enhanced when King Charles I sheltered at the inn following the Battle of Marston Moor on 2nd July 1644 – a copy of the King’s unpaid bill is commemorated on a plaque in the entrance lobby.
