This family run Restaurant and Takeaway was founded in South Shields, Tyne & Wear, in 1926 with a culture of providing an excellent product combined with a first class service, that continues to this day. Richard and Frances Ord are the current ‘stewards’ of the Colman brand and they have, in recent years, added a level of sophistication and style, while never losing sight of the prime product… traditional fish and chips!
The Colmans team are also enthusiastic advocates of offering their customers a variety of local and sustainably sourced fish and seafoods. The daily landed, hand-peeled langoustines, lightly battered and deep fried, could easily be served in any fine dining restaurant and should not be missed when you visit Colmans! Locally caught and prepared on the premises, crab, lobster, squid and many other sustainable species from the North Sea are also
available every day at Colmans. However, traditional fish and chips remain the firm favourite. Colmans believe they are blessed to be situated on the North East coast with access to some of the world’s finest fish and seafoods. An excellent selection of wines, beers and spirits are also available.
