Originally a traditional 17th-century Welsh longhouse and later a staging post for coaches, the Greyhound occupies a stunning hillside position, surrounded by woodland and pasture in the beautiful Usk Valley. Much extended, with a split-level bar and a succession of drinking and eating rooms, the pub is noted for open log fires and a comfortable atmosphere.
 
Conversion of the former stables has produced spacious en-suite bedrooms, all decorated in a cottage style that suit the rural location. Summer alfresco drinking is a real treat among the colourful flower borders and hanging baskets of the beautiful garden.
 
An ideal location for golfers, The Greyhound is only 20 minutes' drive from 20 golf clubs and 10 minutes from the 2010 Ryder Cup venue. Walkers and cyclists can enjoy the picturesque Usk Valley and Wentwood Forest. The hotel offers secure storage for bicycles and a drying room is available.

Motorway and Exit: M4 Junction 24
Train Station: Newport
Route: Leave M4 at junction 24. Take A449 to Usk. Enter Usk Square Clock Tower and take second turning off roundabout. Follow signs to Llantrisant into countryside for approx. 2.5 miles and we are on the right hand side.
