We are proud to announce our award winners for 2009.

Café of the Year

The Troubadour, London

Quirky, relaxing and bursting with atmosphere, you will be greeted by friendly and professional staff in the unique and bohemian style of The Troubadour. Established in the 1950's The Troubadour is steeped with history – this is where Bob Dylan's first London performance took place and the first edition of Private Eye was distributed.

A welcoming atmosphere awaits you from Sabine and Vanessa and their team at Somers Town Coffee House. The highly respected chef Sebastian Torres manages the kitchen with his team of French chefs. All the main ingredients are delivered directly from France so the experience at Somers Town Coffee House is a truly authentic one.

Dunoon, Llandudno, Wales

Set a block or two back from the seafront, this splendid gable-ended mansion is one of many fine examples of Victorian architecture that define this traditional resort town. Smart oak-panelled public rooms include the Welsh Dresser Bar, which sports a magnificent cooking range.

The Compasses Inn, Chelmsford, Essex

A delightful traditional pub nestled in the heart of the quiet hamlet of Littley Green. The pub is owned by a direct descendant of the Ridley brewing family who has kept to the true values that a pub should offer: no jukebox, no TV - just the pleasant hum of people conversing and enjoying a drink and a bite to eat together.

Inn of the Year

Mills Inn, Ireland

One of Ireland's oldest inns, the award-winning Mills Inn dates back to 1755. Situated in a Gaeltacht (Irish speaking) area that is justifiably proud of its language heritage and traditional music, the inn holds traditional music sessions every Thursday night.

Bed & Breakfast of the Year

Glangrwyney Court, Crickhowell, Powys, Wales
